Scarves: Spring 2013 trends

Hello to all my scarves lovers!

Wherever you are , I hope the weather is getting better and you feel like experimenting with you accessories. In this blog we will try to talk about scarves.
2013 will be an exciting and promising year. The Chinese place it under the sign of the Water Snake. My personal calendar indicates something else. It says “Year of the Scarf”!

time is already flying and you need to be ready to surf on the scarf wave which will soon be tremendous, believe me! So many spring collections with scarves…. So many fashion designers playing with has become a must-have / hit accessory…

By the way, I will soon have to tell you about a major, exciting, stirring, thrilling, stimulating, motivating, inspiring (and time-consuming!) project I have regarding scarves. Stay tuned. More in a few weeks!

Dolce Gabanna is all about silk head scarves with hair pulled up into a chignon and oversized colourful earrings: beautifully baroque. What an invigorating way to celebrate spring!
Marc Jacobs wants us to wear scarves as turbans and / or neck scarves. His collection conveys a delightful and sophisticated (fake) countryside look. To be worn preferably when strolling the streets of a big trendy city.
Young designers express creativity too.

Nicholas and Christopher Kunz (Nicholas K fashion design) revisit the ethnic style and bring a touch of “Star wars” to it: colors of the desert, fluid lines, large flowing scarves, who wouldn’t love this soft and quiet way to wear a scarf?

Altuzarra (a young Franco American Chinese designer) dreams of princesses and wants us to wrap our shoulders into opulent and rich shawls. There is something of  Scheherazade in his appealing collection.

Now we have some time to Fall 2013 handbags collection to marinate , a few key handbag trends have started to pop out. Fur and exotics will make a return once again this year, which is either fantastic or terrible, depending on your personal ethics and/or bank account. A new trend that we noticed, though, was the preponderance of chain embellishments on the season’s bags.

MOSCHINO by Samira Orme

Moschino is one of the greatest Italian fashion houses and worlds fashion brands. It represents high fashion but it certainly stands out from other luxury brands and that easy to notice.

Moschino

Moschino Cheap and Chic- secondary women’s line, launched in 1988; Love Moschino- women’s and men’s Moschino Jeans line from 1986, changed in 2008. Besides fashion this brand is leading as fragrance label with its twelve perfumes.

Moschino1 (2)

You don’t go to Moschino for understated. Red and blue polka dots, stripes, ten-gallon hats, turban scarves, fleur-de-lis doorknocker earrings, gold mirrored shades—it was all happening, often in a single outfit.

It’s a same thing with their brand identity and advertising. Exactly that makes them recognizable and different from the other high fashion brand. We would always separate something that’s Moschino from the others luxury labels that pretty much looks all the same when you compare them to this Italian brand. Moschino logo design is simple, pure bold letters with full name of brand, a color is changing depending of needs- gold, black, red- and there’s often a heart that appears on perfume pack, bags shape design or clothes print. Through their branding their trying to tell us to be fashionable, but never fashion victim. Fashion is funny, and we all should have a good time.

Are you a Bohemian Goddess or a Rock Princess?

Are you a Bohemian Goddess or a Rock Princess?

In the fashion world, bohemian, or boho, refers to a a state of mind regarding fashion that is individual, romantic, and free-spirited. This style is often called hippie-chic, or even hobo-chic. Several women who have had an influence on bohemian style in recent years are Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen. Follow this guide to achieve personalized bohemian style!
boho

Mix it up. Learn how to pair pieces of your wardrobe together. Women often match everything together perfectly, but if you pay attention to fashion greats such as Kate Moss, Chloe Sevigny, Mischa Barton, Sienna Miller, The Olsens, and other icons, you can see that by using your imagination, so much more life can be added to your wardrobe. Do you have a frilly white shift dress you love? Try pairing it with a brown shawl and olive flats, or a red trench coat, black tights, and a vintage turquoise belt. The possibilities are truly endless.
In the world of boho-chic, extreme attention is paid to details. From long, short Flower necklaces, berets and head scarves, belts, moccasins, cowboy boots, leggings, ballerina flats, platform shoes, and sequined vests, it’s all about the small things. The difference between someone simple and someone with a bohemian sense of style is in the accessories.

Or May be you are a Rock Princess.

Life is just a matter of style.”
—George Clinton

The look. Rock and roll is obsessed with it. Virtually every artist defines him or her self as much by the way they look as by the music they play. Bruce Springsteen and jeans. Elton John and glasses. Jim Morrison and black leather pants, Rihanna and the spikes. You may not be able to judge a book by its cover, but you can pretty much judge a rock star by his clothes.

Statement Jewellery- what do we know about it

Statement Jewellery- what do we know about it

“Costume jewellery is not made to give women an aura of wealth, but to make them beautiful.”

– Coco Chanel

The illustrious Coco Chanel herself was very fond of costume pieces and greatly popularised the use of faux stones, pearls and metals in her iconic pieces {even though she had quite the collection of precious gems}.

Favouring multi-coloured semi-precious stones – such as aquamarine, topaz and amethyst – Chanel would make the stones emphatically larger and bolder in colour for that added drama and mystique. She first introduced costume jewellery to her label in the 1920’s – the simplicity and elegance of her ‘little black dress’ the perfect blank canvas for lavish gems and jewels…

But you needn’t break the bank to achieve the decedent splendour of a statement jewellery piece. Costume jewellery can be just as enchanting and beguiling in beauty.

CASADEI – inside out.

CASADEI – inside out.

Sometimes glamorous shoes can be just that: a pair of exquisitely crafted killer heels bound to turn any woman into an instant goddess. If Mr Cesare Casadei has anything to do with it however, chances are they’re going to be so much more. Whether looking at the Fall/Spring 2013 collection or browsing through the maison’s archives one thing is clear: this is as covetable as it gets. Just ask Cameron Diaz…

Italian craftsmen certainly know their way around a shoe, this much is undeniable.
Impeccable execution, precious materials and a flair for sophistication are only a few of the reasons behind this success story.
Turning savoir-faire into a style empire takes vision however, and that is exactly what Cesare Casadei brought to the table upon taking the creative reign of the family-run company his parents had founded a few decades earlier. Going from strength to strength, Casadei gained both momentum and global recognition; a few sell-out collections later, their designs have also become one of the hottest tickets in Hollywood.

Bluefront

Meet the stiletto du jour in Tinseltown: the Blade pump, spotted on everyone from Cameron Diaz to Penelope Cruz to Jennifer Lopez to only mention a few. Inspired by the dark glamour of Mulholland Drive’s leading ladies, its razor-sharp heel and timelessly seductive shape have turned it into an instant classic. Now that the Blade has finally hit www.avenue27.co.uk, shoe lovers worldwide may enjoy their own slice of Hollywood glamour.

BurgFront

For a softer kind of statement, the options are plenty: from a new take on the Chelsea boot to the fluorescent to embellished peep-toe pumps, Casadei’s latest collection scores one style hit after the next. Expect to see a lot more of them on the red carpet… and very soon in your closet too.

ABOUT CASADEI
The Casadei label is synonymous with an all-Italian success story, marked by the milestones achieved thanks to great passion and self-sacrifice. The brand can trace its origins back to 1958, when Quinto Casadei founded the first embryo of what was to grow into a company of international reach. The instinct of Quinto Casadei proved strong and true when he decided to expand his small crafts laboratory in which he had already started to produce dream footwear for a select female clientele. This pioneering spirit enabled Casadei to go beyond Italy’s borders. The vocation was transmitted to the second-generation top management, Cesare Casadei, who joined his father Quinto’s 20 years ago. Cesare Casadei grew up amongst the fragrance of leather and the energising flavour of research applied to high technology. Today, Cesare is the driver and creative spirit of Casadei.

What’s your handbag holding personality? A tote hooked over your forearm, a clutch clasped in your hand – how you hold your bags says a lot about you.

image

Loosely clutching like Jennifer Lopez
If you hold your clutch lazily a la Jennifer you’re feeling good! This bag carrying stance shows you’ve got a secret that you’re going to share but not just yet. Adopting this pose suggests you’re forthright with a hint of ‘coy’ thrown in to add to the enigma. You seem open but really you’ve lots of mystery to your personality…

To the side like Kelly Osbourne
The comfiest way to wear a shoulder bag is in this position and surprisingly it signals that you’re about to change course in your life. You may well be starting a new job, moving house or venturing into a relationship.

In your palm like Victoria Beckham
Making this oversized clutch the centre of attention screams ‘look at me’. You’re not one to hold anything back. You’re open with your opinions and don’t mind being verbal about them which means people will always know what you do and what you don’t like.

A bag and a box on either arm like Fearne Cotton
This simple stance is loud and proud which reflects that inside you’re feeling confident too. The way both the bags and hat box balance out the look without being lopsided shows all is well in your life and you’re juggling everything perfectly. Go you!

At the end of arm like Diane Kruger
The arm extension beach bag pose a la Diane shows you’ve a good grasp on life as well as your bag. You enjoy being the centre of attention but like to party hard. This confident approach means you get what you want whatever the cost.

What is CASUAL CHIC?!

Casual chic is a combination of casual and fashionable dress. The term describes a type of dress code that is comfortable, but also stylish and fashion-forward. The casual half of “casual chic” embodies clothing that is traditionally comfortable, like jeans, cotton or khaki pants, and flowing dresses; the chic half embodies precision tailoring, bright colors and a few feminine details and accessories to bring a touch of class and sophistication.

Casual Chic

When the invitation says “casual chic,” it might strike a note of panic in the recipient. Casual chic is an ambiguous term, often open to interpretation. Formal wear probably sits in the closet, waiting to be brought out upon request; casual usually means come in what you feel comfortable in, but you need a certain know-how to succeed with casual chic. The word “chic” is a giveaway, telling you that to aim for the smart end of casual wear

Well, my idea of “casual chic” is :

1. Perfect silk dress for a splash of colour to translate my personality by Michael Kors http://www.avenue27.co.uk/apparel

2.Add contrasting colour with structured Mira clutch by Reiss http://www.avenue27.co.uk/bags

3.Shoes are extremely important they could make or break the whole outfit. In this particular case I decided to go with Valentino. http://www.avenue27.co.uk/shoes/valentino

4. And of course jewellery, but not over the top . http://www.avenue27.co.uk/jewellery

Baftas2013

Baftas 2013: black dresses are the fashion trend of the night.
The stars were out in force in London on Sunday night for the British Academy Film Awards. Standing out from the crowd in bright, colourful dresses were Jessica Chastain and Marion Cotillard.
The pair looked stunning in their electric blue and canary yellow dresses respectively, and made a refreshing change to the black dresses that nearly every other celebrity was wearing.
Anne Hathaway arrived in London for the British Academy Awards looking elegant and edgy at the same time in a black and metallic figure-hugging dress.
The actress, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables, made sure her make-up reflected the rock and roll inspired dress.
Hathaway completed the look with two bronze bangles and a unique clutch bag.
Helen Mirren shocked everyone at the Baftas with her new bubblegum pink hairstyle.
Bafta-award-nominated Jennifer Lawrence arrived at the ceremony on Sunday night looking every inch the award-winning actress.
Wearing a coat as she arrived to keep warm in the British weather, Jennifer later revealed her gorgeous gown underneath. The actress was wearing a pale nude strapless gown, with large sequins scattered on the body.
